Friends

I feel lucky to have the friends I have. These friends are the ones that you keep in touch with for life - after you move or changed schools or jobs.

My longest time friend is Molly. Since we had the same name, she was the one who first forced me to use Ping. She was a travelling nurse who is no longer travelling (but still a nurse) and enjoying her mai tai’s and macadamia nut pancakes in Hawaii. We met in high school and have had some crazy trips together.

My other long time friend from high school is Jessica. She is driven and very smart, finishing her BS, Masters and doctorate in I/O psychology in a mere 8 years! She's now a professor at UNC and lives with her husband and 3 cats in a beautiful country home. She’s been a great friend through all these years, and sometimes she knows me better than I know myself.

Now, let’s das willkommen Heather. Heather and I graduated from UF together in the same field. She went on to work the District, trying to prevent consultants like me from messing up the environment. Her intelligent, free-spirit has taken her to Germany where she plans to study the language and enter a Masters program. Viel Glück!

Alizza. She's a Philipino version of Audrey Hepburn. She's both classy and down to earth, able to socialize with any crowd. We met through our husbands. Paul thought, since she was the wife of a friend, that we should automatically become best buds. It didn't happen that way, rather, our friendship grew with each passing visit. I now consider her as a kindred sister.

Suzy and I roomed together for a semester at UF. She was getting her Masters in EnvEng and graduating at the same time I was. We both found consulting jobs in Tampa and stayed in touch via meetings and many,many lunch dates. Thanks to her, I know where some of the best restuarants are in Ybor. She's now on maternity leave with her beautiful baby daughter, Selma Renee.

My boss, mentor, and friend at PBS&J was Charlotte. She was an awesome boss because she loved to learn and was willing to pass on the knowledge. I could ask her anything and she could think outside the box. I'm glad to say that we still keep in touch, and I'm always excited to hear about her new adventures.
